摘要
Emotional stimuli modulate higher-order cognitive processes by distracting or enhancing attention via privileged processing. While it is known that people with greater trauma symptomatology often exhibit difficulties exerting top-down attentional control, less is known about the underlying mechanisms and the potential role of altered neural oscillatory dynamics in these top-down attentional control aberrations. Herein, we hypothesized that those with greater subclinical trauma symptoms would exhibit stronger neural oscillatory responses in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) as a function of emotional saliency.
