Abstract
For most geometric errors identification method of machine tool guide way, the homogeneous transformation matrix is usually adopted to calculate the solution of error items. It is not easy to ensure the accuracy of values of homogeneous transformation matrix (HTM) since the installation errors of instruments are inevitable during the procedure of measurement. In this paper, a novel measurement method using three non-collinear measurement paths is established to identify the six geometric errors of linear axis. Furthermore, based on sensitivity analysis, the optimal installation parameters are achieved and how each installation parameters affect the identification results is investigated. The optimal measurement parameters would be calculated to reduce the impact of incorrect values of homogeneous transformation matrix. Finally, the simulation would be conducted to analyse the sensitivity of the geometric errors with the installation errors. Experimental test results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and indicates that the method is applicable for a reduction in installation errors.
