To compare first-trimester allostatic load (AL), a measure of “wear and tear” due to chronic stress exposure, among nulliparous individuals who developed hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP; gestational hypertension, preeclampsia) versus those who had no adverse pregnancy outcomes (APO).
