Student Engagement With an Open Educational Resource on Gynecological Assessment

The open educational resource (OER) "Gynecological Assessment" was published online in March 2022. This OER uses video and audio components as well as interactive exercises to engage nurse practitioner (NP) students. It addresses gynecological history taking and the clinical examination, and it specifically addresses the needs of underserved populations. In June 2022, it was integrated into a first-year NP program at the University of Toronto. Students reported a high level of engagement with the OER. There is a need for further study of OERs in NP education to teach clinical skills and to address the needs of diverse populations.(c) 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
