Construction of amorphous In2S3 decorated Ta2O5-xmesocrystals for enhanced photocatalytic tetracycline degradation

Fabrication of tantalum-based composite photocatalysts with high-performance for dealing with organic pol-lutants remains valuable and highly urgent nowadays. In this work, amorphous In2S3 decorated Ta2O5-x meso-crystals were fabricated for tetracycline degradation under visible-light irradiation. The introduction of amorphous In2S3 highly improved the visible-light absorption and charge separation, and the prepared In2S3/ Ta2O5-x mesocrystals showed highly enhanced photocatalytic performance towards tetracycline degradation, and the corresponding rate constant was approximately 0.00658 min-1, which was 5.58 times that of In2S3 and 3.64 times that of Ta2O5-x mesocrystals. The enhanced visible-light photocatalytic performance for the In2S3/Ta2O5-x mesocrystals was mainly attributed to the fabrication of strongly combined interface between In2S3 and Ta2O5-x mesocrystals.
