Temperature affects on the photoluminescence and Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters of CaMoO4:Eu3+nanophosphor

Eu3+ doped CaMoO4 nanophosphors were synthesized by hydrothermal method. X-ray powder diffraction analysis confirmed that all the compounds were crystallized in the scheelite-type tetragonal structure with I41/a (International Number 88) space group. The structural analysis and surface morphology were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy spectroscopy techniques. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of Eu3+ doped CaMoO4 nanophosphors show emission peak at 613 nm (5D0 -> 7F2). The Judd-Ofelt parameters have been calculated from the photoluminescence emission spectra of CaMoO4:Eu3+ with 5% doping concentration, in temperature range from 293 K to 693 K. Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters uniformly decrease with increasing temperature. The Judd-Ofelt parameters radiative lifetimes and emission cross-sections were calculated. The results indicate that the Eu3+ doped CaMoO4 nanophosphors are expected to have applications in the field of solid state lighting and other optical instruments.
