Differences in the difficulty of subtasks comprising the toileting task among patients with subacute stroke: A cohort study

•Toileting comprises multiple subtasks.•Examining difficulty of toileting subtasks upon admission and reacquisition.•The most difficult subtasks upon admission were the main toileting ones.•Preparatory tasks were the most difficult regarding reacquiring skills.•The findings provide useful insights for planning rehabilitation interventions.
