Scheduling for Multiple HVAC Systems with Electrical Power Allocation.

In recent years, there has been a demand for the reduction of electricity costs and energy savings at the organizational level. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems especially account for a considerable portion of the whole power consumption among large-scale demand appliances. In addition, a HVAC system intensively requires a large electrical power; thus, multiple HVAC systems often lead overloading the power system at a moment. This paper addresses a scheduling technique for multiple HVAC systems. Our technique allocates electrical power for each HVAC system based on its occupancy and outdoor unit, and each of the HVAC systems is scheduled such that the total power consumption does not exceed the power limitation by peak demand. Experimental results show that our proposed technique obtains the schedule without violating the power limitation at any time and sacrificing thermal comfort.
