Rotating scanning strategies for tailoring crystallographic texture of additively manufactured NiTi shape memory alloy

•Rotating scan strategy modified the texture of NiTi AM samples.•Bidirectional scan method results in a cube-like single-crystalline NiTi.•Adopting the rotating scan method results in a considerable reduction of texture.
