Endovascular therapy for acute vertebrobasilar occlusion underlying atherosclerosis: A single institution experience.

•EVT can achieve high rates of successful revascularization and favorable outcome in AVBO.•Angioplasty is effective in AVBO underlying ICAS, and does not increase sICH and ICH rates.•Baseline GCS and PMI were independent predictors of favorable outcome after endovascular therapy in AVBO.
