•The mRNA and protein of TK1 was high expression in UCEC tissues and cell lines.•High expression of TK1 was correlated with poor prognosis in UCEC patients.•Deletion of TK1 inhibits the proliferation of UCEC cells.•TK1 is a marker for the diagnosis of UCEC.
