Abstract
Sr 0.3 Ca 0.7 (MoO 4 ) 2 : Tb 3+ , Eu 3+ phosphors have been synthesized by way of the coprecipitation method. X-ray diffraction, luminescence properties, charge compensation, and thermal extinguishing behavior of Sr 0.3 Ca 0.7 (MoO 4 ) 2 : Tb 3+ , Eu 3+ were investigated. The color coordinates of sample #8 were (0.6258, 0.3331) and are located in the red border region. Upon 379 and 395 nm excitation, the emission intensity of Eu 3+ ( 5 D 0 → 7 F 2 ) was improved by charge compensation. The energy-transfer mechanism of Tb 3+ to Eu 3+ ions in Sr 0.3 Ca 0.7 (MoO 4 ) 2 matrix was determined to be the dipole–dipole interaction. The temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectra suggested that the Sr 0.3 Ca 0.5875 (MoO 4 ) 2 : 0.05Tb 3+ , 0.025Eu 3+ phosphor with charge compensation possessed superior thermal stability than the Sr 0.3 Ca 0.625 (MoO 4 ) 2 : 0.05Tb 3+ , 0.025Eu 3+ phosphor without charge compensation, and the activation energy was 0.381 eV.
