ZIF-drived N-doped carbon supported Co, Ni-codoped Au nanoparticle catalyst as efficient anode catalyst for borohydride electrooxidation reaction

ZIF-drived N-doped carbon supported Co, Ni-codoped Au nanoparticle catalyst (Au/CoNi@NC/C) is synthesized and is used as an electrocatalyst for the borohydride oxidation reaction (BOR). The physical and electrochemical properties of the as-prepared Au/CoNi@NC/C catalyst are tested by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronopotentiometry, and rotating disk electrode voltammetry. The results show that the average particle size of Au/CoNi@NC/C catalyst particle is about 8.5 nm, and the catalytic activity of Au/CoNi@NC/C catalyst for BOR is much higher than that of carbon-supported Au nanoparticle catalyst (Au/C), especially Au/CoNi@NC/C-30 catalyst shows the highest catalytic activity for BOR.
