Effective thermal conductivity of ellipsoidal inclusion-reinforced composites: Theoretical model and numerical simulation

•New shape coefficients and interaction coefficients are introduced to construct the prediction model.•The prediction model is verified by experimental data in the relevant literature and finite element simulation data.•The model can accurately predict the effective thermal conductivity of the ellipsoidal particle reinforced composites with different aspect ratios and distribution of particles.
