Abstract
The magnetic structure of GdFeO3-type orthorhombically distorted PrMn0.6Fe0.4O3 compound was determined using the neutron powder diffraction experiment. The compound orders into the (Gx, 0, 0) antiferromagnetic structure and with magnetic propagation vector k = (0, 0, 0) in the temperature range TN (∼ 170 K) >T>35 K. Below 35 K the magnetic structure changes to canted antiferromagnetic, with k = (0, 0, 0) and with magnetic moments aligned into (0, Fy, Gz) pattern. Around 35 K there is a possibility of existence of short range magnetic correlations which are connected with rotation of magnetic moment from Gx to Gz and with appearing of ferromagnetic component along the b-axis.
