摘要

•Four new schiff base (ABS1, ABS2, ABS3, and ABS4) derivatives containing different substituents were synthesized.•Detailed spectroscopic and theoretical investigations were carried out.•All compounds were tested for antimicrobial and antioxidant activity.•A minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) study reveals an MIC as low as 0.13 mg.mL−1, and the DPPH assay demonstrates good radical scavenging activity.
