U-turn on funding for breast asymmetry treatment - is it fair to apply restrictions to patients previously treated on the NHS?
Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery(2023)
摘要
We would like to share a challenging situation which we recently encountered in our outpatient clinic. A 34-year-old patient with congenital breast asymmetry due to left breast hypoplasia underwent National Health Service (NHS)-funded placement of a tissue expander in the left breast in 2004, at the age of 15. She underwent replacement of the tissue expander with a definitive implant one year later and subsequently had two implant exchanges one year and four years after.
