Moderation effect of visible urban greenery on the association between neighbourhood deprivation and subjective well-being: Evidence from Hong Kong

•We examined the relationship among neighbourhood deprivation, urban greenery, and subjective well-being.•Social fragmentation was negatively associated with subjective well-being.•Higher level of overall greenery and visible greenery were associated with higher subjective well-being.•Only visible greenery mitigates the negative effect of social fragmentation on subjective well-being.•The importance of visible greenery in creating healthy city should be noted.
