Abstract
An 11-year-old boy suffers a distortion trauma of the knee joint with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), lesion of the lateral meniscus and cartilage fracture on the posterolateral tibial plateau. Due to the contrasting postoperative treatment regimen, this severe combined injury is performed in two stages. In the first arthroscopic surgery the damaged meniscus and cartilage are fixed. After the cartilage has healed, a physeal-sparing ACL reconstruction is performed.
