A low-overhead compressed sensing-driven multi-party secret image sharing scheme

A single multimedia image encryption scheme cannot well overcome the insecurity factors such as data loss and noise influence in the network channel. Taking advantage of the similarity in structure between compressive sensing (CS) and secret sharing, this paper proposes a low-overhead compressed sensing-driven multi-party secret image sharing scheme, which solves the situation where some schemes only consider specific security, rather than a comprehensive consideration. First, the multimedia image is compressed by CS, in which the measurement matrix comes from the local perturbation of the sequence matrix, so as to achieve low overhead of CS. Second, according to the actual application scenario, the image is formed by matrix partition to form all shadows, and the security is improved by permutation and diffusion. Finally, these shadows are embedded in carrier images by steganographic method to form a visual-secure image. The experimental results and security analysis indicate that the proposed scheme has some security properties, such as data security, visual security, multi-party sharing, flexible shadow size, low overhead, and anti-noise capability.
