A Gesture Recognition Glove Assembled with Nanoforest-Integrated Infrared Thermopiles

摘要
In this work, we reported a glove assembled with nine infrared thermopiles integrated with nanoforests (NFs) for non-contact gesture recognition. Ascribed to the large infrared absorption of the NFs due to the hybrid surface plasmon resonance, the thermopiles exhibit high sensitivity, and are able to characterize the relative position of a finger to the palm and to other fingers, making discernment of different gestures possible. Compared with other noncontact gesture recognition apparatuses, such a glove is able to realize thermoelectric response and gesture recognition without thermal imaging, thus is much simpler for identification.
