摘要
•Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare multisystemic chronic autoimmune disorder that characterized with heterogenous manifestation of vasculopathy and multi-organ fibrosis.•Numerous studies published regarding choroidal vessels affected in the patients with SSc, and they revealed that choroidal thickness was lower in SSc patients than healthy individuals.•Choroidal vascularity index (CVI) is a novel image analysis technique that provides more insights into choroidal vascular alterations in various diseases.•To the best of our knowledge, this study is the first to evaluate choroidal structural alterations in SSc patients with CVI by using enhanced depth-optical coherence tomography. In diffuse type of systemic sclerosis choroidal thickness and CVI significantly decreased, independently. With severity of disease, choroidal tissue gets involved in the process of global vascular damage.
