Valvular assessment and flow quantification

The rapid and continuous modifications in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) techniques have improved the evaluation of valvular disease. In addition to evaluation of valvular morphology and mobility, assessment of ventricular volume and function, measurement of flow across diseased valve help clinicians to recognize and monitor disease severity. In this chapter we will give a brief account of the different CMR sequences used to assess valvular disease and individual valvular disease and provide short discussion on new techniques.
