Pyrolytic carbon/liquid crystal structure based platform for tunable THZ components

Abstract
In this work, we systematically analysed the THz properties of pyrolytic carbon (PyC)/liquid crystal (LC) cell in THz frequency range of 0.2 THz to 1.2 THz, which is provided by means of THz time domain spectroscopy. PyC film realizes the electrode function in this cell. Due to possibility of controlling the thickness of PyC films during synthesis, THz absorption by electrode, depending on it thickness can be decreased.
