Event-Driven While-Loop Circuits

Asynchronous circuits are predicted to play a very important role in future chip designs. However, asynchronous circuit design techniques are not yet well-established. This is due to the lack of powerful design toolkits and convenient building blocks. In this paper, an asynchronous building block is proposed and implemented to realize the loop structure which is mostly used in algorithms. The block works in an event-driven methodology, and is verified by an event-driven data stability detection circuit.
