Abstract
We read with interest the recently published study by Dr Gilmartin et al. [ [1] Gilmartin S. Brent L. Hanrahan M. Dunphy M. Deasy C. A retrospective review of patients who sustained traumatic brain injury in Ireland 2014–2019. Injury. 2022; 53https://doi.org/10.1016/J.INJURY.2022.09.013 Abstract Full Text Full Text PDF PubMed Google Scholar ]. The authors should be congratulated for accumulating data on a large group of patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) in Ireland and we welcome their proposal for improvement in access to neurosurgical, neurocritical and neurorehabilitation services. However, we have concerns regarding the analysis and interpretation of the mortality data by the authors.
