Abstract
Wireless sensor networks is one of the most demanding technology for the real-time applications because of its ease in deployment using sensor nodes. Since sensor nodes have limited battery life, therefore it is essential to minimize the energy consumption of nodes for enhancing the network lifetime. Clustering based hierarchical LEACH protocol plays critical role in improving network lifetime. Various Scalable and efficient algorithms are implemented to improve LEACH clustering hierarchical method. This paper discuss about optimization algorithms which tend to sustain the sensor nodes in the WSN environment for longer time, thus increasing the network lifetime, throughput and latency of the WSN. We present a statistical analysis on various optimization algorithms mainly to reduce energy consumption of sensor nodes.
