Abstract
Two previously undescribed terpenoids, named salviaterpenoid A (1) and ligurobustoside T (2), along with twenty known compounds (3–22) were isolated from Salvia cavaleriei Levl. Their structures were established based on extensive spectroscopic analyses, including HR-ESI-MS, 1D- and 2D NMR as well as by comparison with the data reported in the literature. The absolute configuration of the new compound 1 was established by electronic circular dichroism (ECD). All isolates were tested for their antibacterial activities against Pseudomonas solanacearum, Clostridium perfringens, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. Noteworthily, compound 19 showed appreciable antibacterial activity against B. subtilis with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 7.6 μg/mL. Moreover, compounds 18, 19, 21 and 22 exhibited significant antibacterial activities against B. subtilis, P. solanacearum and C. perfringens, with MICs ranging from 35 μg/mL to 60.8 μg/mL.
