"Princess Mononoke" (1997): movie analysis and application in Environmental Education

The present study aims to analyze some of the central themes in the animation film "Princess Mononoke", such as ecology, the anthropic influence in nature, and also spirituality, as a means of introducing these concepts on a classroom to stimulate debates on environmental education. By bringing a media artifact such as the aforementioned eastern film to the school - although it is a mature and graphic choice of media, it is intended for the young audience -we look forward to create a space for expansion of ideas and to broaden cultural realities, and also allow the connection of multiple cultures, promoting a deep reflection on the impact mankind has on our environment.
