Abstract
Anew manganese(II) complex was prepared by the reaction of manganase(II) acetate with in situ prepared hexadentate Schiff base. The reaction was carried out without the use of an inert atmosphere. Crystal structure of the compound was solved, and intermolecular interactions were analysed using Hishfeld surface. The presence of a high-spin manganese(II) state (S = 5/2) was revealed by EPR spectroscopy in the solid state.
