Abstract

•Bottled mineral waters from 5 countries were analyzed for chemistry and isotopes.•Bottled mineral waters from low-latitude origins have significantly lower d-excess.•Elemental and isotopic fingerprints can distinguish bottled mineral water origin.•HCO3−, NO3−, δ2H, δ18O and F− are the top 5 effective indicators of origin.
