Abstract
Using the sol-gel method, Ni-Zn-Co ferrite doped with Sm3+ were prepared. The chemical formula is Ni0.2Zn0.1Co0.7Fe2-xSmxO4. The doping amount x ranged from 0 to 0.1, and the change in the doping amount of each sample was 0.025. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results showed that the structure of the sample is cubic spinel. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) can reveal information about atomic groups indicating the chemical properties of samples, and the variation of the modulus of elastic modulus is consistent with the structural characteristics of XRD. Utilizing scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM), the morphologies of the samples are spherical cubic. Energy dispersive spectrum (EDS) showed that there were no other impurity elements in the compositions of the prepared samples. Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) was used to examine the samples' magnetic characteristics. The M-H loop showed the soft magnetic characteristics of the samples. Coercivity values are related to domain wall displacement and domain wall rotation.
