LA TEMPORALIDAD DE LOS ESPACIOS FUNERARIOS DEL VALLE DE COLIMA A TRAVÉS DE LA DETERMINACIÓN DE LA ARQUEOINTENSIDAD ABSOLUTA GEOMAGNÉTICA DE SU CERÁMICA ARQUEOLÓGICA (The Temporality of the Funerary Spaces of the Colima Valley through the Determination of the Absolute Geomagnetic Archaeointensity of its Archaeological Pottery)

La relevancia de la cerámica arqueológica en los estudios prehispánicos de Mesoamérica es central, pues a partir de ella se configuraron las primeras interpretaciones, tanto de orden espacial como temporal. Durante mucho tiempo, sus atributos y características, a la par de su contextualización estratigráfica, permitieron el establecimiento de secuencias culturales relativas. Las dataciones absolutas a partir de procesos físicos posibilitaron posteriormente su validación, afinación o rectificación. En este artículo se presenta un ejercicio destinado a analizar, mediante la determinación de la arqueointesidad absoluta geomagnética, varios tipos cerámicos que han servido como marcadores diagnósticos de la secuencia cultural del Eje Armería, en el centro de Colima (México), fundamentalmente aquellos asociados a espacios funerarios de la denominada «tradición de tumbas de tiro», durante el Preclásico Tardío y el Clásico Temprano (fases Ortices y Comala). ENGLISH: The relevance of pre-Hispanic archaeological pottery in Mesoamerica is crucial because it allows the first interpretations of both spatial and temporal contexts. For a long time, its attributes, characteristics, and stratigraphic context permitted the establishment of relative cultural sequences. The absolute dates, retrieved through physical processes, may allow validate, refine, or even rectify previous chronologies. This research is focused on the determination of absolute geomagnetic archaeointensity on different ceramic types that have served as diagnostic markers of the cultural sequence of the Eje Armería (Colima, Mexico). Special attention was paid to the burial spaces of the so-called “shaft tombs” tradition, dating to the Late Preclassic and the Early Classic (Ortices and Comala phases).
