摘要

•DOTAC-decorated MNPs were facilely synthesized.•Surface wettability and charge could be regulated by DOTAC anchoring density.•MNPs with moderate DOTAC anchoring density could demulsify O/W emulsion.•MNPs with high DOTAC anchoring density could demulsify W/O emulsion.•The MNPs exhibited superior demulsification performance and reusability.
