Abstract
•Two safe and eco-friendly dextran based high molecular flocculants were developed.•The flocculation efficiency of both flocculants for kaolin suspension exceeded 96%.•The clarification efficiency of Dex-PL for sugarcane juice reached 91.4%.•The Dex-PL can be biodegraded by dextranase hydrolysis.
