Development of an amperometric biosensor on a toothbrush for glucose

•The work demonstrates for the first time the construction of an amperometric biosensor on a toothbrush.•The toothbrush biosensor shows an excellent detection performance with a broad detection range and a fast detection time.•These results would open up exciting opportunities for developing new toothbrush sensors, as well as advance related healthcare applications.
