Gamma radiation-induced synthesis of organoclays based polyaniline and ilmenite clay minerals for cesium ions removal from aqueous solutions

•Gamma radiation- induced synthesis of bentonite/polyaniline/ilmenite adsorbent.•The adsorbents were developed for cesium (Cs) adsorption.•The adsorbent was effective for removal with high sensitivity at optimum conditions.•The radioactive Cs was successfully remediated despite the presence of K and Na.
