Development of a surrogate model for the simulation of anaerobic co-digestion of pineapple peel waste and slaughterhouse wastewater: Appraisal of experimental and kinetic modeling

•Anaerobic co-digestion of protein rich SWW with PPPW was achieved.•H2O2 treatment of PPW significantly reduced the lignin and hemicellulose contents.•Modified Gompertz the mono and co-digestion processes respectively.•Logistic models accurately described co-digestion processes respectively.•A highly stable and efficient surrogate model was proposed.
