Toxicity potential evaluation of ethyl acetate extract of Cymodocea serrulata against the mosquito vectors vis-a-vis zebrafish embryos and Artemia salina cysts

•Cymodocea serrulata was used as sample of interest for biological applications.•Extraction was performed using hexane, ethyl acetate, chloroform, diethyl ether, methanol, acetone solvents.•Ethyl acetate extract of C. serrulata (CSEA) showed significant larvicidal activity than other extracts.•Mosquito larvae, zebrafish embryo and brine shrimp larvae toxic results received considerable attention from CSEA extract.
