Abstract
A novel digital spectrometer is proposed aiming to reduce the number of numerical operations implemented on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA). The novel model includes the Hilbert transformation, a semi-autocorrelation generation, and integration parts. If the integration number is sufficiently large, then the integrated semi-autocorrelation vector is equivalent to the autocorrelation function. A power spectrum is finally obtained by applying a fast Fourier transformation (FFT) to it. The proposed model requires less number of operations compared with the classical normal spectrometer. We tested the functioning of the new algorithm works using simulation data and implemented it on an FPGA.
