摘要

•Polymer fibers provide much larger impact strength for PLA than common modifiers.•Impact modification remains effective even at −20 °C that is exceptional.•Large impact strength is the result of the energy consumption of local processes.•The different local processes influence dissimilarly the two steps of fracture.•Polymer fiber reinforced PLA has a property profile that was not achieved before.
