A fuzzy logic control of a smart home with energy storage providing active and reactive power flexibility services

•A new fuzzy-logic-based control of a smart home with an air conditioner, an electric vehicle, and an inverter-interfaced battery energy storage system is proposed.•The smart home provides active and reactive power flexibility services for TSO and DSO in a cooperative way.•The price-based and self-sufficient operations of the smart home are developed and compared with the proposed model.•The proposed model brings considerable financial profits to the smart home.
