摘要
The development of software is a necessity for the society, with the implementation of the software to facilitate some bureaucratic formalities in different contexts, there is a need to make the software usable for the diversity of the society. Particularly, in the case of disabled people, there is a concept that approach this issue: Accessibility. It is a concept that promotes the inclusion of disabled people to the activities that are not meant for their disabilities. In the case of software, the accessibility recommends the use of different mechanism for representing the information and aids of interaction with the software. In the case of deaf users, they require alternatives to the use of sound and in general anything inaccessible to their natural language, i.e. sign language. The purpose of this paper is to propose a method to evaluate a software so that it is accessible to a deaf user. According to the web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1), the use of text is a recommended alternative to the use of sound to improve the accessibility to the deaf user. The issue with using text is that the first language that the deaf community use is the sign language. So, the use of text is an alternative that only work for the deaf users that have enough knowledge of a second language (oral language). The approach in this paper is the use of a method to evaluate the usability, this is because of the concept of usable, if the software is usable to the deaf user, that reflect that the software is accessible to them.
