Urban ecosystem services supply-demand assessment from the perspective of the water-energy-food nexus

•A framework for assessing supply-demand of UESs related to WEF-Nexus was designed.•Relations between water-energy-food nexus & urban ecosystem services were assessed.•UESs were correlated with each subsystem of WEF-Nexus for city of Suzhou, China.•Supply-demand matching of UESs related to WEF-Nexus for Suzhou was evaluated.•Except water yield, other UESs related to WEF-Nexus were all in short supply.
