摘要

•Salt erosion resistance of MOS cement with GPs is improved due to an improved microstructure.•Two kinds of Na2SO4·xH2O crystals are observed in MOS cement exposed to different concentrations of salt solutions.•Decomposition of the 5·1·7 phase and MgSO4·nH2O negatively affected the salt resistance of MOS cement.•The combined effect of physical and chemical effects leads to the reduction of the salt attack coefficient of MOS cement.
