Rosenbrock–Wanner and W-methods for the Navier–Stokes equations

This paper presents a numerical study of using Rosenbrock-type methods for the temporal discretization of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. We focus on Rosenbrock–Wanner (ROW) and W-methods. In these methods, the treatment of the Navier–Stokes nonlinearity is built directly into the time-stepping schemes. Hence, in each time step, s merely linear systems have to be solved, where s is the number of stages of these methods.
