An in-silico study to gain a comprehensive understanding of the effects of glucosylation on quercetin properties

•A molecular perspective of quercetin glucosylated derivatives was provided.•QM calculations demonstrated how glucosylation affected the polarity, polarizability, solubility, and lipophilicity of quercetin.•The solvation patterns of these compounds were determined using MD simulations.•These findings helped to explain the molecular basis of the experimental findings.
