Abstract
•Novel tubular NiS/ZnIn2S4/AgIn(WO4)2 hierarchical photocatalysts were designed.•Noble metal free NiS cocatalyst reached 83 % of 3 %Pt.•Efficient NiS/ZnIn2S4/AgIn(WO4)2 reached an H2 rate of 4818 µmol·g−1·h−1.•S-scheme heterojunction and effect of co-catalyst promoted the charge transfer.
