摘要
•Combining Bio-Electrochemical and Electrochemical System for NH3 recovery.•Utilizing one shared cathode for the Bio-Electrochemical and Electrochemical System.•The combined system showed high NH3 removal 99.8 % at a low energy input 9.2 MJ/kgN.•NH3 effluent concentration complied with European Urban Water Framework Directive.•Bio-anode instabilities can be compensate by the electrochemical system.
