Trash to treasure: Green synthesis of novel Ag2O/Ag2CO3 Z-scheme heterojunctions with highly efficient photocatalytic activities derived from waste mussel shells

A novel Ag2O/Ag2CO3 Z-scheme heterojunction derived from waste mussel shells was constructed by an in-situ ion exchange process driven by ball milling, which “One Stone Two Birds” realized the “control of waste by waste” for efficient degradation of pollutants and “trash to treasure” for high value reutilization of waste mussel shells.
